PRESS RELEASE ON THE 175th , 176th AND 177th REPORT OF PARLIAMENTARY STANDING COMMITTEE ON HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE

The Rajya Sabha Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health & Family Welfare presented three reports on 7 August 2026. The 175th Report on vector‑borne diseases in the North‑East recommends strengthening surveillance, enhancing public‑health infrastructure, promoting One Health, and adopting region‑specific integrated vector‑management. The 176th Report on affordability and accessibility of healthcare proposes standardising treatment costs, establishing Jan Aushadhi Kendras in all district hospitals and large private hospitals, creating a voluntary‑contributory insurance model, reviewing the GST regime for health, and setting up an additional AIIMS or satellite centre in northern Delhi. The 177th Report on chronic kidney disease (CKD) advises a dedicated national CKD programme and registry, mandatory bi‑annual kidney screening for persons ≥ 20 years, expanding dialysis and transplantation services, promoting home‑based peritoneal dialysis, and extending post‑transplant care under AB‑PMJAY from 15 days to one year.
