Mission Poshan 2.0 is presented as the Government’s latest integrated effort to combat malnutrition and promote child development. A 2020 third‑party evaluation by NITI Aayog found Poshan Abhiyaan’s relevance satisfactory. A 2021 World Bank survey across 11 states reported that nutrition messages reached over 80% of women and 81% of them practiced exclusive breastfeeding for six months. An outcome‑based evaluation by the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office, NITI Aayog in 2025 covering 12 states and one Union Territory highlighted high uptake of Anganwadi services such as supplementary nutrition, growth monitoring and counselling. Under Mission Poshan 2.0, the Ministry launched the ‘Poshan Tracker’ digital application, incorporating facial‑recognition and Aadhaar‑based verification to monitor service delivery, prevent leakages and eliminate ghost entries.
