Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launches Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 ; Nationwide campaign to be observed from 9 to 17 August, 2026

The Ministry of Culture, led by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, launched the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign, to be observed nationwide from 9‑17 August 2026. The programme, now a five‑year people’s movement, combines flag‑hoisting with cultural activities, heritage programmes and digital engagement, and this year aligns with the 150th anniversary of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’. A five‑step online tutorial and a ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ feature will help citizens learn the song. The flagship ‘SURYAPATH TIRANGA’ will symbolically relay the flag across Indian missions worldwide, while 14 August will be marked as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day with exhibitions, silent marches and a MyGov quiz.
