NAMO BHARAT REGIONAL RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM

The 82.15‑km Delhi‑Ghaziabad‑Meerut Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), India’s first such corridor, became fully operational in February 2026. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) reports that over 3.8 crore commuters have used the service with punctuality exceeding 99 %. Multi‑modal integration links the corridor with three metro lines, two railway stations and four bus terminals. Phase‑I prioritises three corridors, and detailed project reports have been submitted for extensions to Karnal, Bawal, Behror and Noida International Airport. Interventions include TOD zones, influence‑zone plans, 7.8 MWp rooftop solar, a 35 % fare discount and a loyalty‑points scheme.
