LALIT KALA AKADEMI CELEBRATES ITS 72nd FOUNDATION DAY

The Lalit Kala Akademi, the National Academy of Art under the Ministry of Culture, marked its 72nd Foundation Day on 5 August 2026 at Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Shri K.K. Mishra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, who paid floral tributes to the statue of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and visited a timeline exhibition on the Akademi's legacy. Two publications – "Chitrakar Kanu Desai" and "Kalaguru Ravishankar Raval" – were released. Regional centres across India organised workshops, exhibitions, and cultural programmes, including watercolour, serigraphy, and painting demonstrations, highlighting the Akademi's role in promoting visual arts.
