CENTRAL ASSISTANCE TO COOPERATIVES IN KARNATAKA

The Ministry of Cooperation approved the Centrally Sponsored Project for computerisation of functional Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) on 29‑06‑2022, expanding the target from 63,000 to 79,630 PACS with a revised outlay of ₹2,925.39 crore. Karnataka has 5,894 sanctioned PACS, and central assistance to the state over FY 2023‑24 to 2025‑26 totals ₹27.58 crore. Under related schemes, the Ministry released ₹27.58 crore for hardware and data digitisation, ₹1.30 crore for registrar office computerisation, and ₹1.28 crore for ARDB computerisation. A pilot Decentralised Grain Storage Programme was launched at PACS Ekamba (Bidar) with a ₹150.15 lakh sanction and refinance assistance of ₹112.57 lakh. NABARD has onboarded 13 of 21 District Central Cooperative Banks onto a Core Banking Solution, and the Cooperative Development Fund reimbursed ₹244.19 lakh for training in FY 2025‑26. The National Cooperative Development Corporation has disbursed ₹5,74,090.48 crore nationwide, of which ₹3,96,763 crore was for cooperative development in the last five years.
