Major Settlement Benefitting 210 Workers at Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project Through Conciliation Efforts of RLC(C), Jammu

The Ministry of Labour & Employment resolved an industrial dispute at the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project in Kishtwar, J&K, where 210 workers employed by L&T Construction through sub‑contractors had been on strike. After conciliation proceedings led by the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Jammu, an amicable settlement was reached on 13 July 2026. The workers received terminal benefits totalling ₹1,12,70,560 on 30 July 2026, covering retrenchment compensation, bonus, leave encashment, notice pay and other statutory dues. The Ministry highlighted the importance of statutory compliance, workers’ welfare and harmonious industrial relations.
