TRAI releases consultation paper on draft amendments in ‘The Standards of Quality of Service of Access (Wireline and Wireless) and Broadband (Wireline and Wireless) Service Regulations, 2024’
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper proposing amendments to ‘The Standards of Quality of Service of Access (Wireline and Wireless) and Broadband (Wireline and Wireless) Service Regulations, 2024’. The original regulations were notified on 2 August 2024 and came into force on 1 October 2024, establishing technology‑agnostic performance standards, strengthened reporting and greater consumer transparency. Based on implementation experience, stakeholder feedback and evolving technology, TRAI seeks comments (by 26 August 2026) and counter‑comments (by 7 September 2026) on the draft ‘First Amendment’ Regulations, available on www.trai.gov.in.
