Farmers voice strong support for Ethanol after meeting Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan

A delegation of the All India Kisan Coordination Committee met Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi, expressing strong support for ethanol as a means to boost farmers’ income and enhance energy security. The farmers emphasized that ethanol production from sugarcane, maize, rice and other feedstocks would create new markets, reduce crop spoilage, and should deliver fair prices directly to growers. The Minister assured that the central government will consider farmers’ views, review the ethanol policy to balance prices and demand, and work to dispel misinformation about ethanol’s impact on vehicles and crops.
