Incident involving Air India Flight AI2379 (Phuket–Delhi) on 04.08.2026

On 04 August 2026, Air India Flight AI2379 (Airbus A320, VT‑EXO) operating from Phuket to Delhi experienced a brief altitude variation but landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The flight carried 137 passengers (including 3 infants) and 8 crew members. Medical teams attended all aboard; eight passengers and four cabin crew were hospitalized for further evaluation and are reported stable. The Civil Aviation Minister visited Fortis Hospital with the Ministry Secretary and DGCA Director‑General, and senior officials inspected Fortis and Medanta hospitals. The aircraft was moved to a hangar, and the Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder were secured for detailed examination. DGCA has launched a detailed investigation, with the Ministry monitoring the situation.
