Department of Posts Invites Citizens to Participate in National 'Dhai Akhar' Letter Writing Competition

The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has launched the National Level ‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter Writing Campaign 2026‑27. The competition, running from 1 August to 31 October 2026, invites all Indian citizens to submit handwritten letters on the theme “A Letter to Mother Earth: My Promise to Protect Nature”. Entries are accepted in English, Hindi or any vernacular language, in two age groups (≤ 18 years and > 18 years) and two formats – Inland Letter Card (max 500 words) and Envelope (max 1,000 words). Cash prizes are offered at the Maharashtra Circle level (₹25,000/₹10,000/₹5,000) and the National level (₹50,000/₹25,000/₹10,000).
