DGTS Mumbai Organises GST Awareness Seminar for Students at Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Powai

The Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS), Mumbai Zonal Unit, held a seminar titled “Understanding Basics of GST” on 4 August 2026 at Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Powai. The event aimed to promote tax literacy among school students, highlighting the role of GST in nation‑building and economic development. Senior officials including Shri B.K. Behra (Deputy Commissioner, KVS), Shri Sumit Mehra (Assistant Commissioner, KVS) and Shri Vinod Wankhede (Principal) were felicitated, and GST awareness books and certificates were distributed to competition winners. The technical session covered GST objectives, rates, Input Tax Credit and taxpayer services, using simple examples to encourage early awareness and potential careers in taxation.
