MODERNISATION OF CAPF

The Ministry of Home Affairs’s Modernization Plan‑IV for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) has supplied modern weapons, surveillance and intelligence systems, secure communications, mobility platforms, force‑protection gear, specialized operational equipment and infrastructure over the past three years. Items include assault rifles, Glock pistols with Corner Shot, thermal imagers, UAVs, secure communication kits, bullet‑proof vehicles, bullet‑resistant jackets, counter‑IED tools and modern training facilities. Annexure‑A lists annual financial outlays and expenditures for each CAPF from 2022‑23 to 2026‑27. The Ministry states that these measures have markedly improved operational capability, preparedness, mobility, situational awareness, surveillance, force protection and response capacity, thereby strengthening border guarding, counter‑insurgency, anti‑Naxal and other internal security operations.
