Steps Taken to Promote Ayush Medicine

The Ministry of AYUSH reports that over the past three years the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) have issued a series of regulations and curriculum reforms to improve the quality of AYUSH medical education. Key actions include the issuance of Minimum Standards Regulations (2022‑2024) for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, adoption of competency‑based and outcome‑based curricula aligned with NEP‑2020, introduction of revised lecture‑to‑non‑lecture ratios, early clinical exposure, skill labs, and digital platforms such as LMS and QR‑code‑linked syllabi. Examination reforms encompass the implementation of NTET, NEET, and AIAPGET. The Ministry also notes that Uttarakhand has not submitted a proposal for new AYUSH institutions under the National AYUSH Mission for FY 2026‑27, and no new research institute proposal exists in the state.
