VICE ADMIRAL MANISH CHADHA, AVSM, VSM, ASSUMES CHARGE AS DIRECTOR GENERAL NAVAL OPERATIONS

Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, AVSM, VSM, assumed charge as Director General Naval Operations on 3 August 2026. He was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1 July 1991 after graduating from the 78th course of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and is a Communication and Electronic Warfare Specialist. His 35‑year career includes command of Coast Guard Interceptor Boat CGS‑05 and Indian naval ships Veer, Kirpan and Mysore, service as Naval Attaché in Moscow, and senior appointments such as Flag Officer Commanding Gujarat and Maharashtra Naval Areas, Assistant Chief of Personnel (Administration and Human Resource Development), Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy, and Director of the International Fleet Review 2016. He received the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2025 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2017.
