Text of the felicitation remarks delivered by the Hon'ble Chairman on the outstanding achievement of the Indian Contingent at the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Para Games on 03-08-2026

The Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, on 3 August 2026, congratulated the Indian contingent for its performance at the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Para Games in Glasgow, Scotland. India finished fourth in the overall medal tally with 39 medals (13 Gold, 17 Silver, 9 Bronze). Para-athletes achieved a record haul of 7 medals (3 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze). The Chairman extended congratulations to athletes, coaches, support staff, the Indian Olympic Association, the Paralympic Committee of India and National Sports Federations, urging them to inspire future talent through hard work and discipline.
