EVALUATIONS OF MEASURABLE OUTCOMES DELIVERED BY SCM

The NITI Aayog report (Sept 2025) on the Smart Cities Mission (SCM) finds a 93% completion rate for 8,063 projects and 100% completion of Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCCs), contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals. As of 31 Mar 2026, 8,064 projects worth ₹1,64,811 cr were undertaken, with 7,790 projects (97%) worth ₹1,56,257 cr completed. Key outcomes include 100 ICCCs, >83,000 CCTV cameras, 1,300+ public‑space projects, conservation of 484 heritage sites, 17,000 km of water‑supply network monitored, 1,700 km of smart roads, and 194 PPP projects worth ₹9,190 cr. Post‑closure advisory (10 Jun 2025) directs SPVs to ensure project completion and O&M plans for ICCCs.
