TRAI Assesses Mobile Network Quality Across Haridwar and Rishikesh City under UPW LSA

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released results of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) carried out in Haridwar and Rishikesh (UP West LSA) from 29 June to 1 July 2026. The test covered 292.3 km of city drive, 7 hotspot locations and 1.4 km of walk tests. Key QoS parameters measured were coverage gap, dropped calls, call‑silence instances, and data throughput. Coverage gaps (samples with signal < ‑110 dBm for 5G/4G) were 1534/50508 for Airtel, 3920/49983 for BSNL, 2699/50069 for RJIL and 952/50338 for VIL. Dropped‑call ratios were 10/430 (Airtel), 13/426 (BSNL), 2/453 (RJIL) and 0/451 (VIL). Call‑silence instances (>3 s) were 9/414 (Airtel), 21/408 (BSNL), 18/435 (RJIL) and 12/451 (VIL). Average download speeds recorded were 128.99 Mbps (Airtel‑5G), 7.96 Mbps (BSNL‑4G), 205.57 Mbps (RJIL‑5G) and 58.46 Mbps (VIL‑5G); average upload speeds were 24.54 Mbps (Airtel), 4.11 Mbps (BSNL), 23.21 Mbps (RJIL) and 14.79 Mbps (VIL). The findings were shared with the service providers for corrective action and are available on the TRAI website.
