Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Meets Weightlifting Champion Mirabai Chanu Following Historic Commonwealth Triumph

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia met weightlifting champion Mirabai Chanu after her record‑extending third Commonwealth Games gold. In the meeting, Scindia praised her achievement and discussed the development of a comprehensive sports ecosystem in the North‑Eastern Region (NER). The Ministry of Development of North‑Eastern Region (DoNER) is establishing a High‑Level Task Force under the ‘One State, One Sport’ initiative to promote sports where each state has a natural advantage, such as weightlifting, archery and football, focusing on quality coaching, scientific training, nutrition and athlete support.
