Military-civil integration key to a robust defence ecosystem to tackle emerging challenges: Raksha Mantri at AFHQ Civilian Services Day celebrations
At the 85th Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) Civilian Services Day on 3 August 2026, Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh stressed the need to deepen military‑civil integration within the Ministry of Defence. He urged joint training, developmental assignments and cross‑exposure between civilian and military officers to enhance policy, administration, HR, finance and logistics capabilities. Citing cyber warfare, he suggested civilian cadres develop defence‑specific cyber tools and a forum to study military history from a civilian perspective. The Minister launched digital initiatives such as the Internet‑Based Accommodation Management System (IBAMS), integration of eHRMS with TULIP 2.0, and the SPARROW portal, positioning AFHQ Civilian Services as the strategic brain of India’s defence management.
