SOCIO ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF SIKH COMMUNITY

The Ministry of Minority Affairs is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme, a Central Sector Scheme with no state‑wise allocation, through 59 Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) targeting 1.56 lakh beneficiaries across 31 States/UTs. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) was allotted 31,600 Sikh candidates. To date, training of 32,138 candidates has been completed, of which 11,217 belong to the Sikh community (5,655 men and 5,562 women). Additionally, the National Minority Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) disbursed Rs 15.19 crore to 972 Sikh beneficiaries in FY 2025‑26. The figures were provided by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
