Monthly Production and Dispatch from Captive and Commercial Mines Continue Upward Growth in July 2026

In July 2026, captive and commercial coal mines produced 14.78 million tonnes (MT) of coal and dispatched 17.49 MT, marking a 9.61 % year‑on‑year increase over July 2025. The Ministry of Coal attributes the rise to improved operational efficiency, higher mining productivity and better utilisation of capacities. The release states that the higher domestic output is expected to cut reliance on imported coal, save foreign exchange and bolster the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision for energy security and industrial growth.
