From Skills to National Honour: Six DDU-GKY Youth Invited as Special Guests for India’s 80th Independence Day Celebrations

Six beneficiaries of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU‑GKY) from West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Mizoram and Nagaland have been invited as Special Guests for India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations on 15 August 2026. The invitation letters were sent via India Post for attendance at the Red Fort ceremony and the ‘At Home’ dinner hosted by the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The release highlights DDU‑GKY as the flagship placement‑linked skill‑development programme under DAY‑NRLM, noting its role in equipping rural poor youth with industry‑relevant skills, certifications and dignified employment, thereby contributing to economic empowerment and national growth.
