47,328 Villages Selected Under PM-AJAY Adarsh Gram Component Across the Country; 435 Villages in Telangana

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment reported that 47,328 villages across India have been selected under the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM‑AJAY) Adarsh Gram Component, including 435 villages in Telangana. The scheme targets the integrated development of villages by monitoring 50 socio‑economic indicators across 10 sectors. A need‑assessment survey established baselines, and identified gaps are addressed through convergence of Central and State schemes. Nationwide, 3,28,131 development works have been identified, covering 1,10,51,213 beneficiaries; 46,642 works are completed, benefitting 47,59,399 persons. In Telangana’s education sector, 3,529 beneficiaries are identified, of whom 472 have received benefits.
