Meeting of Heads of National Statistical Offices of BRICS Countries

The Heads of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates – will meet in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on 3‑4 August 2026 under India’s chairmanship. The meeting follows a technical NSO meeting held on 16‑17 April 2026, which discussed the 2026 Joint Statistical Publication (JSP) and Snapshot BRICS JSP. The agenda includes strengthening core BRICS statistical products, innovating national statistical systems, improving data dissemination, and enhancing macro‑economic and sectoral statistics. Two side events on administrative data and data‑ecosystem readiness are also scheduled.
