New Delhi to host “GI & Beyond 2.0 Summit” on 5 August

The Ministry of Textiles, through the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms) and the Handloom Export Promotion Council, will host the “GI & Beyond 2.0 Summit” on 5 August 2026 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. Inaugurated by Minister of State for External Affairs & Textiles Shri Pabitra Margherita, the summit will showcase over 100 GI‑registered handloom and handicraft products, launch the Digital Handloom Atlas, and unveil the HEPC’s Diamond Jubilee logo. It will bring together overseas buyers from about ten countries, exporters, MNCs, GI‑registered proprietors, and officials from central and state governments, alongside experts from IIT Madras presenting AI applications for the GI ecosystem.
