PRESIDENT OF INDIA FLAGS OFF THE PBG SOLDIERATHON

On 2 August 2026, President Smt Droupadi Murmu virtually flagged off the President’s Bodyguards (PBG) Soldierathon from the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt, with General (Dr) V K Singh (Retd), Governor of Mizoram, as patron. The race, held at Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantonment, featured 3 km, 5 km and 10 km categories and aimed to strengthen civilian‑Armed Forces bonds under the theme “Supporting Real Heroes – the Armed Forces of India.” Proceeds are earmarked for the Armed Forces’ Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre, welfare of battle‑casualty wards, and support for the PBG’s horses and troops. A Special Postal Cover was also released.
