CBN dismantles inter-state counterfeit drug network in Bihar under Operation Vajra; mastermind arrested

Under ‘Operation Vajra’, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) Madhya Pradesh Unit seized eight counterfeit‑medicine godowns and an illicit manufacturing facility in Gaya and Masaurhi (Patna), Bihar. The operation led to the seizure of 68,200 Tramadol tablets, 59,000 other tablets, 52,542 bottles of Codeine syrup, 21,373 Buprenorphine injection ampoules and over 439,000 non‑NDPS tablets, among other medicines. The mastermind was arrested on 22 July 2026 after surveillance, and six additional unauthorised godowns were identified. The seized stock and sealed premises were handed over to the State Drug Administration for legal action, and the illicit manufacturing unit was dismantled under the NDPS Act, 1985.
