Union Health Minister Shri J. P. Nadda Chairs Meeting to Assess Expansion of Project SARATHI Across Healthcare Institutions

Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda chaired a high‑level meeting to examine the expansion of Project SARATHI, a youth‑led patient‑assistance initiative, across hospitals and medical institutions. The meeting reviewed its implementation at PGIMER, Chandigarh, where more than 2,500 volunteers logged over 1.5 lakh service hours, reducing patient navigation time by 26 %. Ministers discussed integrating SARATHI with the MY Bharat programme, establishing structured orientation, training, digital monitoring and safeguards to ensure volunteers support non‑clinical tasks. The aim is to create a scalable, sustainable framework for nationwide rollout in central government hospitals.
