LAUNCH OF DSC A24 (YARD 329) - FIFTH SHIP OF DIVING SUPPORT CRAFT (DSC) PROJECT

The Ministry of Defence announced the launch of DSC A24, the fifth vessel of the Diving Support Craft (DSC) project, on 1 August 2026 at Titagarh, Kolkata. The catamaran‑hull ships, with a displacement of about 300‑400 tons, are built by M/s Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) in accordance with the Indian Register of Shipping rules. They are intended to augment the Indian Navy’s capabilities in diving support, underwater inspection, salvage assistance and coastal operations. About 70 percent of the main and auxiliary equipment is sourced from indigenous manufacturers, reflecting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make‑in‑India initiatives.
