Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah approves advance release of ₹2,117.85 crore to flood-affected States under SDRF

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah approved an advance release of ₹2,117.85 crore from the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for flood‑affected states during the 2026 southwest monsoon. The funds are being disbursed as advance releases of the first or second instalments, with documentary requirements relaxed. ₹44.55 crore is allocated to Arunachal Pradesh, ₹379.35 crore to Assam, ₹500 crore each to Gujarat and Maharashtra, and ₹193.95 crore and ₹500 crore respectively to Himachal Pradesh and Odisha as second‑instalment releases. Inter‑Ministerial Central Teams have been deployed to Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Nagaland to assess damages, and the central government continues to provide NDRF and logistical support.
