AIR MARSHAL TEJPAL SINGH ASSUMES THE APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE AIR STAFF

Air Marshal Tejpal Singh AVSM, VM, assumed the role of Deputy Chief of the Air Staff on 01 Aug 2026, succeeding Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti who superannuated on 31 Jul 2026 after 39 years of service. The ceremony included laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. Commissioned on 16 Jun 1990 as a fighter pilot, he has logged over 3,500 flying hours, is a Category‑A Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot, and has held key operational, command and staff appointments in the IAF. He was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in Jan 2011 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in Jan 2021 for distinguished service.
