Union Minister Manohar Lal Inspects Bhalswa Dumpsite; Reviews Progress of Legacy Waste Remediation

Union Minister Manohar Lal, Housing and Urban Affairs, inspected the Bhalswa Dumpsite on 1 August 2026. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi reported that 99.07 lakh MT of legacy waste had been remediated up to 31 July 2026, with the remaining mound slated for clearance by 15 October 2026 and waste accumulated up to March 2026 to be cleared by 31 December 2026. The minister directed the newly awarded work for processing fresh waste at the landfill to be expedited, emphasizing accelerated remediation and scientific management of incoming waste. The visit highlights the Ministry’s focus on time‑bound waste clearance and comprehensive site remediation.
