Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated development projects worth over ₹17,900 crore at Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. The multi‑sectoral initiatives include a new airport named after Alluri Sitarama Raju, a semiconductor plant in Visakhapatnam, modernization of existing ports (Visakhapatnam‑Krishnapatnam) and new ports at Mulapeta and Ramayapatnam, extensive highway and expressway networks, railway projects valued at about ₹1 lakh crore with full electrification, and integration under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. The projects aim to boost the state’s aviation, clean energy, semiconductor, blue‑economy and logistics capabilities, positioning the region as a coastal economic corridor and a future manufacturing hub.
