Indian Railways Approves Extension of Daily Ludhiana-Jakhal Passenger Train up to Jind to Strengthen Regional Rail Connectivity

Indian Railways has approved extending the daily Ludhiana‑Jakhal Passenger (Train No. 54053/54054) up to Jind station under Northern Railway. The extension will replace the earlier Ludhiana‑Jakhal operation, increasing the route length from 128 km to 200 km. All stations between Jakhal and Jind will have commercial stoppages, providing direct rail connectivity between Ludhiana and Jind and eliminating the need for passengers to change trains at Jakhal. The move is aimed at strengthening regional mobility and improving access to employment, education, healthcare and commercial centres across Punjab and Haryana.
