AI-based tool Legal Research Analysis Assistant (LegRAA) has been developed by the Artificial Intelligence Division of NIC and Centre of Excellence for eCourts

The Ministry of Law and Justice reports that under Phase‑III of the eCourts Mission Mode Project, an AI‑based Legal Research Analysis Assistant (LegRAA) has been created by the Artificial Intelligence Division of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Centre of Excellence for eCourts (CoEE). The tool is intended to assist Hon’ble Judges in legal research and document analysis and is currently in pilot testing. A budget of ₹53.57 crore has been earmarked for emerging technologies, including AI, under the Future Technological Advancements component of the project. Deployment will follow the operational framework set by the Rules of Business and the policies of the Supreme Court and High Courts.
