A DELEGATION FROM BASTAR MANDAL CALLS ON THE PRESIDENT

On 30 July 2026, a delegation of Bastar Pandum 2026 winners – Pargana Manjhi and Chalaki – met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai were also present. The President highlighted Bastar Pandum as a cultural showcase that reinforces tribal traditions, promotes tourism and creates jobs, and praised improvements in infrastructure such as roads, electricity, drinking water and school reopening in remote villages. She emphasized tribal youth’s participation in education, science, art and sports, urged empowerment of women, children and senior citizens, and called for water and environmental conservation.
