Development of Areas under Integrated Tribal Development Agency
The Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, through Union Minister Shri Jual Oram, stated that development in Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) and Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) areas is financed via multiple schemes—including Grants under Article 275(1), Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana, State Tribal Sub‑Plan, PM‑JANMAN, Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA‑JGUA), Eklavya Model Residential Schools, scholarships and tribal livelihood programmes. Funds are released state‑wise and scheme‑wise based on approved proposals, utilisation certificates and compliance. A National Conclave on Strengthening ITDAs/ITDPs (3 June 2026) highlighted needs for better staffing, integrated planning, data systems, community participation and enhanced convergence with line departments. The government’s convergence‑based approach targets infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, horticulture, forest produce, tribal enterprises, and skill development in ITDA areas.
