National Education Policy (NEP), 2020

The Ministry of Education, citing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, has integrated skill‑based and experiential learning across school and higher education. Under Samagra Shiksha, classes VI‑VIII receive pre‑vocational exposure through bagless days, off‑textbook programmes and the Kaushal Bodh series, while classes IX‑XII offer NSQF‑aligned skill modules as additional or elective subjects. Higher‑education pathways include Community Colleges, B.Voc. programmes and the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) 2025. Digital initiatives such as PM eVidya and DIKSHA provide ICT labs, smart classrooms, e‑content, virtual labs and broadband (BharatNet) to enhance access, especially in rural and tribal areas.
