WAVES Digital Platforms Expand Business, Investment and Innovation Opportunities for the Media & Entertainment Sector

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has launched two digital platforms – WAVES Bazaar and WaveX – to bolster the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC‑XR) ecosystem. WAVES Bazaar operates as a year‑round global marketplace enabling business discovery, B2B meetings, market access, investment facilitation and international collaboration across films, animation, VFX, gaming, XR, immersive media, music and digital content. WaveX is a dedicated startup platform that promotes innovation by linking startups with investors, incubators and partners, though it does not provide direct funding. The government has also set up the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) as the National Centre of Excellence for AVGC‑XR, collaborating with Maharashtra and industry bodies, and has forged international partnerships for curriculum co‑development, skill programmes, technology access, R&D, internships, incubation, scholarships and mentorship.
