Electronics Development Fund Strengthens India's Innovation Ecosystem by Supporting Technology Startups in Electronics System Design, Manufacturing & IT
The Electronics Development Fund (EDF), a Fund‑of‑Funds set up by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, has invested ₹257.77 crore in eight SEBI‑registered daughter funds as of 30 June 2026. These daughter funds have mobilised a total of ₹1,335.77 crore into 128 startups and companies across the electronics system design & manufacturing (ESDM) and IT sectors, with major investments in Karnataka (₹854.54 crore), Telangana (₹129.97 crore), Maharashtra (₹142.48 crore) and Delhi (₹99.20 crore). The fund’s salient achievements include leveraging its investment to raise roughly 5‑times more capital from the market, generating about ₹22,553.82 crore in total funds for supported startups, and facilitating the creation or acquisition of 373 intellectual property assets. EDF completed its investment phase in February 2024 and is now in the divestment phase.
