Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah virtually inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Sahakar Bhavan’, the headquarters of Jamnagar District Cooperative Bank in Gujarat. Built at an approximate cost of ₹25 crore on 25,000 sq ft of land, the building provides about 47,000 sq ft of functional space, including a training centre, farmers’ hostel, conference rooms, secure lockers and a 200 kW solar plant. The bank, which started in 1969 with ₹2.5 lakh capital, now holds deposits of around ₹135 crore, has disbursed loans of ₹780 crore, earned a profit of ₹24 crore and reports zero gross NPA. It operates 40 branches, serves 431 service cooperative societies, six dairy unions and 652 milk‑producers’ societies, and aims to support the financial needs of farmers in Jamnagar and Devbhumi Dwarka districts.
