Union Minister for Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia reviews progress of Bharat 6G Alliance, presents 5G Lab Excellence Awards

The Union Minister for Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, reviewed the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) progress at Vigyan Bhawan, noting its seven specialised working groups covering spectrum, devices, technology, applications, green & sustainability, outreach, and use‑cases. The alliance’s members hold over 7,700 patents (including 4,400 foreign filings) and India’s 3GPP participation rose from 717 to 1,787 participants and contributions from 196 to 2,943 between 2020‑2025. An update on TSDSI’s 6G standardisation efforts was presented, and the 5G Lab Excellence Awards highlighted top-performing institutions such as IIITDM Kurnool. The Minister reiterated commitment to indigenous R&D, sustainable technologies, and global collaboration to position India as a leading 6G contributor by 2030.
