Highlights of Telecom Subscription Data at the end of June 2026

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released data for June 2026 showing a total of 1,348.08 million telephone subscribers (1,300.25 million wireless + 47.82 million wireline). Broadband subscribers (including M2M) rose to 1,087.50 million, with a net addition of 5.03 million wireless and a decline of 0.68 million wireline. Overall tele‑density (including M2M) reached 94.31 %, urban tele‑density 153.43 % and rural tele‑density 60.89 %. Active wireless (mobile) subscribers on the peak VLR date were 1,201.06 million (≈93.66 % of the wireless base). Mobile Number Portability requests totaled 14.78 million in June 2026.
