SPECIALISED COURSE ON TECHNICAL TEXTILES

The Ministry of Textiles, under the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), has issued "General Guidelines for Enabling of Academic Institutes in Technical Textiles Education in India" for both private and public institutes. The guidelines have led to the introduction of 59 undergraduate and postgraduate courses and the approval of 47 applications with a cumulative grant of Rs 216.60 crore for laboratory equipment and faculty training. Separate guidelines for skill development target four groups – undergraduates, unskilled persons, up‑skilling/reskilling of existing technical manpower, and personnel in application areas. Multiple implementing agencies across states and Union Territories have been empanelled to deliver training and outreach, including in the Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency.
