ATAL BEEMIT VYAKTI KALYAN YOJANA

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has extended the Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY) from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. Eligibility requires a minimum of 12 months of insurable employment before unemployment and at least 78 days of contribution in the preceding 12‑month period; unemployment must not be due to misconduct, lock‑out, superannuation, or false statements under the ESI Act, 1948. Claims are now processed online with direct benefit transfers to beneficiaries’ bank accounts and regular monitoring for timely disbursal. Expenditure under the scheme amounted to Rs 1.01 crore (688 beneficiaries) in 2023‑24, Rs 2.72 crore (1,978 beneficiaries) in 2024‑25, and Rs 1.52 crore (1,406 beneficiaries) in 2025‑26.
