SPECIAL DRIVE FOR THE EXPEDITIOUS DISPOSAL OF LONG-PENDING LABOUR CASES

The Office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) has initiated a three‑month Special Drive (1 June 2026 – 31 August 2026) to expedite disposal of long‑pending industrial dispute and claim cases covering wages, gratuity, maternity benefits and other statutory claims. On 1 June 2026, 16,033 cases were pending across field offices. In the first month of the drive, 2,769 cases were disposed of. The figures were disclosed by Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Shobha Karandlaje in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
