Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Interacts with Participants of Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026, highlighting youth participation from about 250 districts. He linked the programme to the earlier ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ platform and emphasized sending over 400 youth to border villages in Himachal, Uttarakhand and Ladakh to experience local culture and patriotism. The Prime Minister noted the redesignation of border settlements from ‘last villages’ to ‘first villages’ and cited recent infrastructure upgrades – electricity, roads, water, gas and internet – that are transforming the agricultural economy and spurring tourism. He urged the youth to share their experiences widely to further promote border tourism and holistic development.
