PRESIDENT OF INDIA ADDRESSES INDIA-ROMANIA BUSINESS FORUM
On 24 July 2026, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the India‑Romania Business Forum in Bucharest, highlighting Romania’s strategic location, skilled workforce and EU integration as assets for India’s trade and investment agenda. She underscored the significance of the India‑EU Free Trade Agreement, noting its potential to deepen trade, boost investment flows and create opportunities for MSMEs, startups and innovators. The President outlined sectors for bilateral cooperation – energy security and green transition, chemicals and fertilizers, digital public infrastructure, logistics, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and defence – and urged Romanian firms to engage with India’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision. Institutional mechanisms such as the Joint Economic Commission and Defence Cooperation Committee were cited to facilitate partnerships.
