NIELIT and SCL Mohali Collaborate to Make Indigenous 1.2 µm Process Design Kit Available on eChipHub
The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous scientific society under MeitY, has partnered with the Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), Mohali to make an indigenous 1.2 µm Process Design Kit (PDK) available on the eChipHub platform. eChipHub, managed by NIELIT under the MeitY‑funded project “Development of EdTech Platform in Semiconductor Space to Democratize Chip Design and Development Ecosystem for Masses,” will provide Aadhaar‑authenticated access to the PDK for students, researchers, startups, MSMEs and industry professionals. The integration creates one of India’s first indigenous design‑to‑fabrication learning pathways, linking RTL design through to fabrication‑ready IC designs, and supports the goal of building a skilled workforce for the India Semiconductor Mission.
